In many Chinese cities, primary and middle schools have made class breaks longer from 10 to 15 minutes since the fall semester(学期) started. The governments(政府) want students and teachers to do more outdoor activities.
Before, Chinese schools usually had 10-minute breaks. But it was not enough time for students, especially those in tall buildings, to go outside and play. Sometimes, schools didn't let students leave the classroom during breaks because they were worried about safety.
