My first DIY project
Last month, I decided to try my hand at DIY after watching an interesting video online. The project was to turn an old glass jar into a beautiful night lamp. At first, I thought it would be easy, but I quickly realized it required more skills than I had.
I gathered all the materials: a clean jar, colourful jute(黄麻纤维) rope, glue, and a small LED light. My initial attempts were messy—the rope wouldn't stick properly, and the glue kept spilling. Frustrated, I almost gave up. However, my mum noticed my struggle and encouraged me to keep going. She taught me to mark the jar evenly and apply the glue carefully. With her guidance, I slowly wrapped the rope around the jar, making sure each layer was neat.
The most exciting part was placing the LED light inside. When I turned it on, the soft glow shining through the rope made the jar look magical. I felt so proud of my creation!
This DIY project taught me the value of patience and persistence. Now, the lamp sits on my desk, reminding me that with effort, even simple materials can be turned into something special. DIY is not just about creating things; it's about learning and growing through the process.
