At noon, the sky turned dark yellow. A thick cloud of sand rushed towards us like an angry giant. It hurt
our faces and filled our mouths with sand. The teachers shouted, “Cover your faces!” Everyone ran into the
classroom, coughing and closing their eyes. Outside, trees shook in the wind, and bicycles fell down like toys.
After the storm, everything was covered in yellow dust. We spent hours cleaning the classrooms. Luckily,
no one was hurt. The head teacher told us the sand came from strong desert winds. It was scary, but we learned that planting trees can help stop sandstorms.
