When people think about movies, they often discuss what they see. Yet what they hear is equally important. The voices behind the characters help to breathe life into them. Lyu Yanting, 37, the voice actress of young Ne Zha in Ne Zha 2, uses her voice to describe a great character who fights against fate(命运).
“Dubbing(配音) is much like acting,” Lyu explained. Voice actors will get the script before they start. After reading it, they will have their own understanding of the story and character. During dubbing, she needs to show the character's feelings. Also, she has to match her voice perfectly with the animation's(动画) scenes. “The directors guide us,” she added. “By explaining the scenes, they help us give our best performance.”
Lyu believes it is very important to keep growing as a voice actor. “We need to deepen our understanding, gain life experience and open our eyes. With these things and our professional(专业的) skills, we can successfully act out different roles.”
Lyu is thankful for being part of this great project. She showed her years of training, but she also believes that landing such roles required luck. “You can't depend on just one perfect role throughout your whole career,” she added. “As a voice actor, you have to get used to different types of roles.”
For young people who want to enter the voice acting industry, Lyu offered her advice: If you love it, go all in. The future is uncertain, but you can shine today.

“Vernon Dursley speaking!”
Harry, who happened to be in the room at the time, froze as he heard Ron's voice answer.
“HELLO? HELLO? CAN YOU HEAR ME? I-WANT-TO-TALK-TO-HARRY-POTTER!”
Ron was shouting so loudly that Uncle Vernon jumped and held the receiver a foot away from his ear, looking at it with an expression of mixed anger and fear.
“WHO IS THIS?” he shouted loudly into the phone. “WHO ARE YOU?”
“RON-WEASLEY!” Ron bellowed back. It seemed like he and Uncle Vernon were speaking from opposite ends of a football field. “I'M-A-FRIEND-OF-HARRY'S-FROM-SCHOOL!”
Uncle Vernon's small eyes turned quickly to Harry, who was unable to move.
“THERE IS NO HARRY POTTER HERE!” he shouted angrily, now holding the receiver at arm's length, like he was afraid that it might explode(爆炸). “I DON'T KNOW WHAT SCHOOL YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT! NEVER CONTACT ME AGAIN! DON'T COME NEAR MY FAMILY!”
Uncle Vernon hated anything to do with that unnatural magic school and its strange students. And he threw the receiver back onto the telephone as if dropping something dangerous.
The noisy argument(吵闹) that had followed had been one of the worst ever.
“HOW DARE YOU GIVE THIS NUMBER TO PEOPLE LIKE YOU!” Uncle Vernon had shouted so angrily that his mouth water flew at Harry.
Ron clearly realized that he'd got Harry into trouble, because he hadn't called again. Harry's other best friend from Hogwarts, Hermione Granger, hadn't been in touch either. Harry thought that Ron had warned Hermione not to call, which was a pity, because Hermione, the cleverest witch(巫师) in Harry's year, had non-magical parents, knew perfectly well how to use a telephone, and would probably have had enough sense not to say that she went to Hogwarts.
So Harry had had no word from any of his magical friends for five long weeks, and this summer was turning out to be almost as bad as the last one. There was just one very small improvement: after promising that he wouldn't use her to send letters to any of his friends, Harry had been allowed to let his owl(鹰), Hedwig, out at night.
