二、阅读理解
One night, Tom saw a blue light in his yard. He put on his shoes and quietly went outside. There, behind the old tree, stood a small white horse with a shiny horn (角)! Its fur looked like snow under the moonlight. The horse lifted its head and looked at Tom with kind purple eyes.
“Help me!” the horse spoke inside Tom’s mind. “The dark wolves (狼) are coming. They want to stop the magic of the night!” Tom didn’t understand, but he knew the horse needed him. He carefully climbed onto its back.
They ran fast through the woods. The trees moved aside like magic to let them pass. Behind them, three black wolves with red eyes were running angrily. The horse’s horn glowed brighter with every step, making their path clear to see.
“Look!” the horse cried. Before them was a beautiful bridge made of rainbows, but it was broken in the middle. “The rainbow bridge connects (连接) day and night,” said the horse. “Without it, the world will be forever dark!”
Tom saw a blue stone hanging from the horse’s neck. He took it and felt warm energy in his hands. When he put it on the broken bridge, there were beautiful fireworks. The bridge pieces joined together.
The wolves ran away. The night sky was suddenly filled with bright stars. “Thank you,” the horse touched Tom’s hand. “When the moon is full again, you’ll hear my call.”
As morning came, Tom found himself in bed. His shoes were dirty, and on his bed some white hair glowed in the sunlight.
