No manners, no peace
You won't believe the day I had. From morning till night, it felt like bad manners were following me around!
It started in the morning when I was taking a business trip to another city. While I was waiting in line at the train station, a young man jumped the line. “Why does he think that's okay?” I wondered. It put me—and several other passengers—in a bad mood. I told him in a direct way, “Where are your manners? Everyone is lining up. It's wrong to push in.”
On the train, things got even worse. I was trying to review some notes for my meeting, but it was almost impossible to focus. A woman sitting next to me was talking loudly on her phone. I had to wear my earphones and play loud music in order to block out the noise. Then a young boy kept running around the coach. Finally, I stood up and said to him, “Don't run! Very dangerous!” He stopped and looked at me for a moment. Then I guided him back to his seat. All of this made me feel even more stressed and tired. I just wanted some peace and quiet.
After a long, tiring day, all I wanted was to relax. In the evening, I went to see a comedy film at the cinema. Guess what? More bad manners! A man in front of me kept checking his phone. The bright light from the screen was so annoying! Why do people use their phones when the film is shown? I politely asked the man to put away his phone. He did so … for a few minutes. But then he brought it out again! I was very unhappy with him and with the whole experience.
It's upsetting to see such bad manners in public. We all share these places. I wish people would try a little harder to behave properly—especially in public places.
