六、阅读与回答问题(本题共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
请认真阅读下面短文,并根据短文内容回答问题。
All of axolotls(美西螈) are seriously endangered. Scientists are worried about the future of them and they have been taking action to save axolotls。

The axolotl is a strange but amazing animal living in the water. It has a long body, short legs, and a long tail. The axolotl has a special ability. If an axolotl loses a leg, or even part of its heart, brain, or lungs, it can regrow(再生) them. Scientists have long been interested in how the axolotl does this and think this could help solve some human medical problems.
Sadly, axolotls are in trouble. The number of axolotls in Lake Xochimilco near Mexico City has dropped by 99.5% in less than 20 years. There are many reasons for the drop in the number of them. One is that the water has become more polluted. Another is that there are some fish in the lake which are eating axolotls' food, and even their babies.
Scientists at National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) have been working for years to protect the axolotls. In 2022, they started a programme called "Adoptaxolotl". The programme was a big hit, and raised more than 26,000 in a year. In 2023, the programme raised even more money and the money was used to support the scientists' work and help protect axolotls' natural home. The scientists hope to raise enough money to work out how many axolotls are left in the wild. This will help them find out the best ways to protect these amazing animals.
66. How do scientists feel about axolotls' future?

67. What special ability do axolotls have?

68. Why has the number of axolotls in Lake Xochimilco dropped so much?

69. What was the money raised by Adoptaxolotl used for in 2023?

70. What else can we do to protect axolotls? (at least two ways)(请自拟一句话作答)

答案:66. Worried. 67. They can regrow some parts of their body. 68. Because the water has become more polluted and some fish in the lake are eating axolotls' food and even their babies. 69. For supporting the scientists' work and helping protect axolotls' natural home. 70. We can set up more nature reserves to protect them and clean up polluted water in their lakes.(言之有理即可)
根据短文第一段第二句“Scientists are worried about the future of them”,可知科学家对美西螈的未来感到担忧,故答案为Worried.

68. 根据短文第三段最后两句,美西螈数量下降的原因有两点:一是水污染加剧,二是湖里的一些鱼吃它们的食物甚至幼崽,故答案为Because the water has become more polluted and some fish in the lake are eating axolotls' food and even their babies.
69. 根据短文第四段“In 2023, the programme raised even more money and the money was used to support the scientists' work and help protect axolotls' natural home”,可知2023年募集的资金用于支持科学家的工作和保护美西螈的自然家园,故答案为For supporting the scientists' work and helping protect axolotls' natural home.
70. 本题为开放性试题,结合保护动物的常识,可从建立保护区、治理污染等角度作答,例如We can set up more nature reserves to protect axolotls and clean up the polluted water in their living areas.
