Respected master Ye Jiaying, also known as “Poetry’s Daughter”, passed away on November 24, 2024, at the age of 100. Born in Beijing in 1924, Ye Jiaying was a leading expert in Chinese classical literature and poetry. the future,” she once said. In 2018 and 2019, Ye gave all her money to Nankai University. For her achievements and generosity(慷慨), she was awarded the “Touching China 2020” award in 2021.
Ye was not only a teacher but also a talented poet. She wrote and published many books on Chinese poetry and literature, including “Studies in Chinese Poetry” and “Selected Essays on Shi and Ci Poetry by Jialing”.
