At just 14 years old, Ryan Hickman from San Juan Hills High School, the USA, made waves with a beach clean - up campaign (运动). At the Ocean Institute in California, he started a programme where primary school students clean local beaches and then board the institute's teaching ship to learn about pollution's impact.
"It's fun," he said. "I may be able to encourage the people I talk to and they might organize a cleanup too."
