In the programme, the host(主持人) with a group of young people learns and feels the rich culture in Dunhuang. They learn about the frescoes(湿壁画), music, traditions, and even food in this city. From the frescoes, they get to know what happened(发生) more than 1,000 years ago. And they also meet some workers who work hard to protect the frescoes. “I had the idea of making a programme about Dunhuang when I took a two-week trip there,” said the director. “Dunhuang is a fantastic place. Once you visit it, you’ll never forget about it and you will always want to go back there. But the frescoes will slowly die out one day, so we make this show to call on people to protect them.”
To protect the frescoes from the light of cameras, the director and his team didn’t use any cameras in the grottoes(洞穴). Luckily, with the digital technology(数字技术), they showed the beautiful frescoes to people successfully in the programme.
