Do you like dancing? Last month, a wonderful performance 51 (appear) on the stage of our school theatre. It was a show about traditional Chinese dance, and I was lucky enough to be part of it.
At first, I felt a lot of 52 (press). The movements were 53 (familiar) to me, and I was afraid I couldn’t do them well. Our teacher, Ms Li, noticed my worry. She told me that everyone has their own artistic way of expressing 54 (feel). She said, “Take 55 (please) in the process of learning, not just the result.”
I started to practise harder. I found a similarity between 56 (dancer) and calligraphy—both need control and flow. During one difficult move, I had to hold my 57 (breathe) to keep balance. When I finally got it right, I felt a great sense of 58 (proud).
On the night of the show, the music started. We danced 59 (beautiful) under the lights, telling an ancient story with our bodies. The audience cheered loudly. We had 60 (final) brought this beautiful art to life.
That night, I learnt that traditional dance is not just about steps—it’s about culture, feeling and heart.

55. 固定搭配take pleasure in意为“以……为乐”,故填pleasure。
56. between后接名词,此处指“舞蹈”,故填dance。

Wang Xizhi, who lived about 1,700 years ago, is often called the “Sage of Calligraphy” in China. He was good at calligraphy. His most famous work, Lantingji Xu (Preface to the Poems Composed at the Orchid Pavilion), is still admired by people all over the world today.
It is said that Wang Xizhi loved practising calligraphy from a very young age. He would practise near a pond, and every day after writing, he would wash his inkstone and brush in the pond. After years of this, the water in the pond actually turned black from all the ink! This story shows just how hard he worked.
His most famous work was created during a spring gathering with friends. While sitting by a winding stream, they enjoyed wine and composed poems. Wang Xizhi wrote down all the poems in beautiful handwriting. He was so inspired that he wrote the preface freely and smoothly. Later, when he tried to rewrite it, he could never match the beauty and spirit of that first version.

very good. His father, after seeing his work, secretly added a dot under one character. Later, when Wang Xianzhi showed his work to his mother, she looked at it carefully and said, “Only this one dot looks like your father’s work.” After hearing this, Wang Xianzhi understood he still had much to learn and began to practise even harder.
