The James Webb Space Telescope( JWST), launched in 2021, is the most powerful space telescope ever built. It orbits the sun about 1.5 million kilometres from earth, far beyond the moon's orbit. Unlike the Hubble Space Telescope, JWST observes in infrared light, which lets it see through dust clouds and capture(获得) images of the earliest galaxies in the universe.
One of JWST's greatest achievements is detecting light from galaxies that formed just 200 million years after the Big Bang. These galaxies are much smaller and dimmer than any previously seen. By studying them, scientists hope to understand how the first stars and galaxies formed and evolved.
JWST also studies exoplanets—planets outside our solar system. It can analyse the atmospheres of these planets to look for signs of water, oxygen, and other molecules that might support life. For example, it has found carbon dioxide in the atmosphere of a gas giant exoplanet, a key step in understanding alien worlds.
The telescope's mission is expected to last at least 10 years. It continues to rewrite our understanding of the universe, showing us sights we have never imagined before.

2. B
3. D
4. C
解析:
