Uncle Wang was seven when he started woodcarving. Now he is sixty - seven!
At first, he learnt it from his father and his grandfather. His best memory was about a figure he made at ten. It was a monkey and everyone in the family said it was great!
After he left middle school at fifteen, he went to a special school teaching woodcarving. The school had wonderful teachers of woodcarving. Uncle Wang got good training there for three years and made great progress. After graduation (毕业), he went to a woodcarving factory and worked there till his retirement (退休).
Now he’s old, but he still loves it. Every Tuesday and Friday, he goes to the woodcarving school to watch the students do woodcarving. He also often gets together with his old friends from the factory. Now they don’t do woodcarving any more, but they spend lots of time talking about it. Thanks to woodcarving, Uncle Wang has had friends throughout his life!
