One day in July 2020, Halli was hanging around the city's main shopping street with his family. During their walk, his son was thirsty and wanted a drink from a store. But Halli soon found that he couldn't help with this because a 20-cm step got in the way.
Born with muscular dystrophy(肌肉萎缩症),Halli, now 46,has been using a wheelchair since 25 years old. As he waited outside the shop quietly,he thought about all the times he couldn't join his family or friends once he even missed a friend's birthday dinner because the restaurant had no ramp(斜坡).
He has been to some other countries because of work and experienced how they care about the needs of the disabled. This time he wanted to make a difference in his country, Iceland. So, he started a programme called Ramp Up in 2021 to make his hometown wheelchair-friendly. Many kind-hearted volunteers joined him, helping survey public places and share the project with locals. With the help of the government, the Ramp Up team has achieved it and is now planning to build 1,500 more all over the country by 2026.
Halli is proud that Ramp Up has encouraged others to act. He recently met a woman. She built a ramp at her home with her family's warm help after hearing about it, allowing her friend of 30 years to easily visit in a wheelchair. The friend was so grateful that she also began to spread the word about Ramp Up in her community.
In three short years, Halli has become a hero in his country. "Halli is leading by example, showing that change starts with just one person," said the Iceland President(总统). Ramp Up has opened our eyes not only to the need for social improvement, but also to how easy it is to get things done when we all join hands.

解析:
总统提到“Halli is leading by example, showing that change starts with just one person”,且Ramp Up项目推动了社会无障碍环境的改善,说明他的核心贡献是引领他人让社会变得更好。
1. 第1题:根据第一段“his son was thirsty and wanted a drink from a store. But Halli soon found that he couldn't help with this”可知,“this”指代给儿子买饮料的行为,故选D。
2. 第2题:由第二段“As he waited outside the shop quietly,he thought about all the times he couldn't join his family or friends once he even missed a friend's birthday dinner because the restaurant had no ramp”可知,Halli因过往遗憾经历,此时心情低落,故选D。
3. 第3题:结合第三段“With the help of the government, the Ramp Up team has achieved it and is now planning to build 1,500 more all over the country by 2026”,“it”指代前文的初始目标,选项C“他们的第一个目标是建造100个斜坡”符合语境,故选C。
