五、阅读理解
Every country has its own features. One thing that visitors to the UK always notice is how good British people are at waiting, especially in lines. Everywhere in the UK, it's common to see lines: at bus stops, in shops and in cinemas.
Kate Bradley, a teacher at the University of Kent, said that waiting in line in the UK isn't simply about showing politeness to other people. British people like everything to be in perfect order, so pushing the way before someone in a line is something that most Brits try to avoid.
Actually, it is a tradition started during World War II. At that time, people had to wait in line to get things like food in shops. The government was worried that trouble and disorder would happen. So, people were told that waiting in line politely and patiently was a British thing to do. And that message is still alive today.
There is probably only one thing that will influence(影响)people's willingness to stand patiently in line—the weather, which can change quickly in the UK. One minute it can be fine and sunny and the next it can be wet and windy. When the weather is bad, they only hope the bus can arrive very soon, or people lining up for food will give up and leave.
If someone decides not to follow the rule in bad weather, most Brits will speak up and tell the line-jumper to get to the back of the line.
But . Although people are waiting, they may be excited about the thing they're waiting for, for example, a pop concert. The excitement can make waiting for something a very enjoyable experience.

4. 第4题:选择合适句子填空需结合上下文逻辑,前文讲坏天气会降低排队耐心,后文转折说明有时排队会因期待的事变得愉快,空格处需衔接前后,选择既呼应天气因素又能引出积极体验的选项。
